The Glastonbury Candle

CONNECT TO THE ENERGIES OF GLASTONBURY / AVALON

Lighting the candle and focussing on the flame will connect you to the energies of Glastonbury / Avalon and remind you of your own inner flame and the Divine Spark that resides in us all.

The Glastonbury Candle has been made in Glastonbury by Starchild for Glastonbury Pilgrim Reception Centre and is available only from the PRC. This special candle has been charged with a unique magical herbal infusion made with herbs, trees and flowers including the Glastonbury Thorn. These have been collected in tune with the cycles of the moon from various sites in and around Glastonbury.

WHY BLUE?

There is a deep spiritual significance to the colour blue and it represents faith, devotion, peace, inner knowledge, love, tranquillity and harmony.
In many cultures and beliefs, blue is seen as a very sacred colour and so it has been chosen here to represent the sacred Isle of Avalon and Glastonbury.

In order to perpetuate the Sacred Flame, all orders will receive a taper that has been ceremonially lit from the activated candle and using the taper to light your own candle will allow the energy to flow into it.

USA CUSTOMERS: We send our Candles through Royal Mail. It is classed as an heavy package and due to increased US Customs security on passenger airlines to the USA, heavy packages can no longer be flown direct. This means they are taking much longer to arrive. Royal Mail is continuing to explore alternative solutions for these items, to return them to air transit as soon as possible. The PRC is also exploring alternative methods of shipping. We think they are worth the wait though!

The Journey of the Glastonbury Candle

We are now working with the many different faiths, paths and community organisations in a simple on-going ceremony to honour all the multi-faceted aspects of Glastonbury.

A candle, lit and blessed by the PRC, and held in a large glass lantern, is being passed to other community groups to light and bless in what ever way is appropriate for them. This might be a ceremony, activity, meditation, meeting or simply holding the energy of it during a typical day in their ‘office’.

The PRC feels that this simple ongoing ceremony contributes towards bringing ‘Glastonbury’ together into the energy of the candle. Further candles will be lit from the original, thus perpetuating the energy of the Flame.
