Contemporary Paths in Glastonbury

This is a 'work in progress'. If you would like to be included in this section please contact us by email.

Anthroposophy

The word Anthroposophy derives from the Greek Anthropos (man) and Sophos (wisdom) and can be interpreted as the wisdom inherent within the human being. Rudolf Steiner stressed that the world and its inhabitants are of a spiritual nature - the material world being merely a more crystallized form than higher regions which interpenetrate and interact with the material sphere - and that we each are an eternal being passing through one of a number of incarnations, the final outcome being that we will eventually evolve to a purely spiritual state but as independent, self-willed individuals.

Although there are no regular groups happening in Glastonbury, do feel free to contact John & Felicity who can give you more information about this path and local links.

They say: '"We welcome enquiries from anyone wishing to find out more about the many aspects of Rudolf Steiner's spiritual insights as well as endeavours that have stemmed from his ideas such as Steiner/Waldorf Education, Biodynamic farming, Architecture, Biography Work, etc. We have books pertaining to his teachings, some of which are available for loan, and a flexi-schooling education project based on Steiner pedagogy is in it's beginning stages".
