This is a 'work in progress'. If you would like to be included in this section please contact us by email.
The first half of the evening is an open Buddhist meditation, discussion and tea break, the second half is in the Chan/Zen tradition. Ned Reiter is an authorised meditation instructor and group leader affiliated to the Western Chan Fellowship, although as a group, we are very broadly based - but definitely have a Chan/Zen flavour. Everybody is welcome to join us, and meditation instruction is available to newcomers.
There is no charge for the evening, although we do request a donation, suggested amount £2-£3, to cover the cost of the room and refreshments.

Gaia House is a meditation retreat centre near Newton Abbott - with an affiliated local meditation group in Glastonbury.
The group sits on Wednesday evenings, from 7.15pmto 9.00 p.m., including 40 minutes sitting and some discussion. It is open to anybody who is interested (by prior arrangement as we sit in our own houses). Visitors to Glastonbury are welcome, whether wanting a 'taster' or to carry out their existing practice.
Gaia House is not aligned with a particular branch of Buddhism like Zen or Tibetan; it offers retreats and teachings from many such sources, but its core teaching is 'Vipassana' or 'awareness' which lies at the heart of many Buddhist lineages. It is therefore open to all.

Studying the teachings of Sogyal Rinpoche, author of the Tibetan Book of Living and Dying, this is a small and cozy group for those who would like to learn about meditation and settling the mind.
A teaching is played and discussed, followed by a 30-minute meditation session called the Unifying Practice.
There are tea and biscuits for those who wish to stay after 9.00pm (until 9:30pm).
