A definition of a 'pilgrim' ~ Someone who makes a journey to a sacred place'

Glastonbury is a fascinating place and since time immemorial, people have journeyed here to experience this rich place of legend, romance, myth and history. A centre of pilgrimage for millennia, Glastonbury has a strange and powerful 'pull' that today draws people from many different walks and paths of life, from all over the world.

This small market/pilgrimage town sits beneath the intriguing Glastonbury Tor. Its potpourri of independent shops and organisations on a bustling High Street abounds with diversity. Glastonbury of the 21st century has emerged as a place that integrates many paths and beliefs and this is reflected in the wide and varied cultural experiences, activities and colourful personalities that can be found in this vibrant, captivating place.

There is something for everyone in Glastonbury; quiet comtemplative places, lively community events, healing, learning, unique shopping and you might not think of yourself as a 'pilgrim' but as a tourist or a visitor. Whether you are coming out of sheer curiosity or planning a sacred journey, making a once in a life-time trip or as a frequent visitor coming to recharge your batteries, we hope that you will find something of interest on this website and at our Centre itself when you arrive. Our volunteers will give you a warm welcome, regardless of where you have come from.

Our purpose is to serve visitors and potential visitors with information and support. If you cannot find what you are looking for, email us and we will do our best to help.

"An outstanding service, dedicated to answering the call of pilgrims looking for something, it doesn't matter what and their needs are answered. It seems the PRC's door is always open with love and passion for Glastonbury and represents perfectly what Glastonbury stands for." Tracey Wiffen, Hampshire, UK.
